SWEDISH – Long, soft gliding strokes used on the more superficial layers of muscles. This promotes general relaxation and improves circulation.
DEEP TISSUE – Applied to deeper muscles and with more pressure than Swedish. Helps release chronic patterns of muscle tension, using slower strokes and direct pressure.
NEUROMUSCULAR – Deep massage that is applied specifically to individual muscles. It is often used to increase blood flow, and to decrease trigger points and pressure on nerves.
SPORTS – Deals with the needs of the athletes for maintenance and for pre and post events. Techniques include deep tissue, vigorous Swedish, and stretching.
PREGNANCY – A pregnancy cushion is used to cradle the abdomen and protect the baby. Light Swedish techniques are used. Helps to improve circulation and relaxation.
